Hey everyone!
Today, I want to talk about a character who has been with me for a while—MB Brown. If you’ve been following my work, you probably know him as a chaotic, witty, and wildly ambitious YouTuber, but what you might not know is that he actually started off as a side character in a series I’ve been working on since 2020-2021, called The Games.
When I first created MB, he wasn’t meant to be a major player. He was just supposed to add some comedic relief, a bit of energy, and an outside perspective to The Games. But the more I wrote him, the more I realized… this guy had a life of his own. He wasn’t just some throwaway sidekick—he had his own ambitions, struggles, and a personality that refused to stay in the background.
MB became one of those characters who could walk into any scene and instantly change the mood. His fast-talking, high-energy, and ENTP personality made him unpredictable, but also deeply real. He was the kind of guy who could joke his way out of anything, but underneath all that humor, there was something deeper—someone who didn’t always fit in, who had his own battles, and who was carving out his own path.
I think one of the coolest things about MB is how he evolved over time. He went from being just a supporting role in The Games to becoming a character with his own storylines, struggles, and motivations. His journey—especially his love for film, storytelling, and breaking expectations—mirrored some of my own creative struggles. Maybe that’s why I felt so connected to him. So because of all this, I decided to give him his spotlight as one of the main characters for Narratives in Motion (my very first writing piece that I'm satisfied with-)
Even now, MB continues to surprise me. He’s loud, he’s dramatic, and he has that kind of personality that makes him impossible to ignore. But he’s also a reminder of why I love writing—because sometimes, characters take on a life of their own. Sometimes, they demand to be more than what you originally planned for them. And honestly? That’s one of the best parts of storytelling.
So, shoutout to MB for refusing to stay a side character. I’m excited to see where his story goes next.
Have you ever created a character who just wouldn’t stay in the background? Let me know in the comments!
Until next time,
Jeevan
